Leo Petri

Leo Petri, 92, of Nekoma, ND passed away Wednesday April 15, 2009 at the Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon, ND.

Leo Jake Petri was born February 17, 1917, the son of Joseph and Anna (Stahl) Petri. He attended school at Nekoma Public School. On May 25, 1949 he married Idella Mutcher, daughter of Reinhold and Ida (Sepke) Mutcher, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Dresden, ND. They made their home on the family farm in Nekoma Township, where Leo was born and raised. They raised their family there and farmed until 1980. Leo also worked at the Nekoma ABM site from 1971-1973. He was a member of Nekoma Lutheran Church.

Leo is survived by his wife Idella; children: Charles (Dolores) Petri of Sidney, NE, Eileen (David) Moen and David Petri all of Nekoma, ND; six grandchildren: Nikki, Amanda, Joshua, Cati, Brandi, and Christopher; three great-grandchildren: Zane, Lexee, and Allison; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: John, Stanley, William, Arthur, Samuel, Benedict; Sisters: Mary, Mimmie, Mary, Eleanor, Cecilia, and Josephine.

VISITATION will be held at the Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon from 2:30-4pm on Sunday, April 19, 2009.

PRAYER SERVICE will be held at the Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon on Sunday April 19, 2009 at 4pm.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at the Nekoma Lutheran Church in Nekoma at 10:30 am on Monday, April 20, 2009 with one hour of visitation prior to service.

SPRING INTERMENT will take place at the Nekoma Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Nekoma.
