Lawson A Paton

Lawson A. Paton age 96 of Neche, ND died on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:30 am at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church on hour before the time of service. Jensen-Askew Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial at the Hillside Cemetary, Walhalla, ND. Lawson A. Paton was born April 10, 1913 in Rural Neche, ND to Robert and Bessie (Jones) Paton. He married Jesse Sanders at the Park Center Presbyterian Church on November 10, 1940. They lived and farmed in the Neche area. Jessie died on Decemember 19, 2006. Lawson belonged to Good Sam Club, Friendly Neighbors Senior Citizens, Silver Hair Legislators, Heritage Center, Township Supervisor, Caretaker at Paton's Isle of Memories, taught Sunday School, and enjoyed gardening. Lawson was a member of the Neche Methodist Church. They traveled in their motor home in all 48 states. He became a resident of the Pembilier Nursing Center in June of 2009. In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND.
Lawson is survived by his children: Luverne (Sharon) Paton of Hampstead, NH., Lyle (Helen) Paton, Minneapolis, MN., Roy (Betty) Paton, Neche, ND., and Royce Paton, Fergus Falls, MN: four grandchildren: Mark, Kevin, and Jenna Paton and Katie (Tyler) Stoltz.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Audrey Wessels.
