LaVerne D. Scholler, 74, of Cavalier, ND and formerly of Crystal, ND. passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church in Cavalier. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at the church. Burial in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Leroy, ND.
LaVerne was born January 25, 1937, near Neche, ND to John and Bernice (Lemier) Scholler. He grew up in the Bathgate area. After working for farmers in the Bathgate area, he worked for O.C. Schulz and Sons Farm of Crystal for the past 51 years. He enjoyed ice fishing, gardening, buying and restoring old tractors, and working in his shop.
He married Anna Ault in 1958. On November 17, 1973, he married Dorothy LeTexier and had their marriage blessed in the church in 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; daughters: Sheryl (Dave) McGlynn, East Grand Forks, MN and Sandy (Michael) Sackett, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Travis Rasmussen, Grand Forks, ND, Dereck (Becky) Rasmussen, Anchorage, AK, Cory, Laura, Garrett, and Briana Barclay, all of Grand Forks; mother, Bernice Scholler, Cavalier; siblings: Betty (Mike) Olason, and Marvin (Carol) Scholler, all of Cavalier.
Preceding him in death were his father; great grandson, Liam Rasmussen; brother, Larry and infant brother, John.
