Laurence A. Charbonneau, 96, of Pembina, ND, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Eventide in Fargo, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo, ND. Visitation will be held for one hour before the time of the service with a rosary at 10:00 a.m. Memorials to the charity of your choice.

Larry was born to Ovila and Melvina (Chaput) Charbonneau on October 9, 1928, in Olga, ND, where he grew up and attended school. He entered the United States Air Force in 1947. After he was honorably discharged in 1950, he moved to Langdon, ND, where he met the love of his life, Jean Wild. They married on December 27, 1952, in Osnabrock, ND. Larry worked as a U.S. Border Patrol Agent and later transferred to U.S. Immigration. The family lived in multiple places around the United States until 1966, they settled in Pembina, ND where Larry and Jean raised their family. Larry enjoyed reading, hunting, gardening, and spending time with family. Family around a table was always a great joy to him. Teaching grandchildren and great-grandchildren to play pinochle was one of his favorites. After retiring in 1986, Larry and Jean enjoyed traveling the United States. He was an active member of Assumption Catholic Parish in Pembina, Knights of Columbus and National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.

Larry is survived by his wife Jean (Wild) Charbonneau; children: Arma (Darrell) Haseleu, Fargo, ND; Lauren Charbonneau, Georgetown, TX; Craig Charbonneau, Grand Forks, ND; Keith Charbonneau, Mapleton, ND; Mary (Dave) Soergel, West Fargo, ND; Cecilia Lysne, Crookston, MN; Donna (Pat) Burton, Pembina, ND, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving Larry are siblings: Theresa, Geneva, Joann, Mary Lou, Patricia, Francine, Geraldine, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ovila and Melvina; stepmother, Marion (Carrier) Charbonneau; son, Kevin; son-in-law, Bruce; daughter-in-law, Debbie; siblings: Lorraine, Gloria, Damas, Donald, Eli, Myrtle, Elaine, Juanita, Raymond, Earnest, Wayne, Laurette, Louise, Barbara, and Roberta.
