Laurel "Lolly" Koehn

Laurel "Lolly" Koehn, 90, of Langdon, ND passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.

Laurel was born February 4, 1925 near Dresden, ND to Fred and Edith (Kolm Marchall) Koehn. He attended rural school near Dresden and graduated from Langdon High School in 1944. Laurel lived on the family farm his entire life. Laurel married Betty Byfield Darling on December 10, 1988 in Langdon, ND. They enjoyed their summers on the farm and their winters down south. Laurel loved all aspects of farming, watching the stock and futures markets, and square dancing. He was a member of the Langdon Eagles Aerie #3454 and the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Langdon.

Surviving Laurel are his wife, Betty, of Langdon, ND; children: Kathie (Arlen) Wirkus of East Grand Forks, ND, Randy (Val) Darling of Langdon; grandchildren: Jason (Lexi) Chaput, Amanda (Jason) Seykora, Janelle (Jason) Askvig, Rachael Darling, Nick Wirkus, Shayna Wirkus; great-grandchildren: Brecken, Hanlee, Westin; and niece and nephews: Tim Humphrey, Kurt (Rebecca) Humphrey, Beth (Alan) Fitch, Scott (Tracy) Humphrey, and Chris (Marcella) Groff. Laurel was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Mildred Koehn, and sisters and brothers-in-law Edna (Pat) Groff and Geneva (Joe) Humphrey.

Services for Laurel will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 2:00 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND. Visitation will start at Noon and continue until the time of service.

Memorials are preferred to Cavalier County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
