Larry John Johnson, 83, of Walhalla, ND passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Burial will be held in the South Pembina Cemetery, rural Langdon, ND.
Larry John Johnson was born December 12, 1934 to Joseph and Gladys (Swenson) Johnson in the South Pembina area of Cavalier County where he was raised. He enjoyed working on many farms throughout the area. He also worked along side his brother and best friend Dick for many years at Frostfire.
He was married to Frances J. Svercl and they had two children. Larry is survived by his children: Cindy Andersen, Chanhassen, MN and Larry Wayne Johnson (Cheryl), Bismarck, ND; grandchildren: Katie and Nicole Johnson and Amanda Royer (Justin); great-grandchildren, Olivia and Juliana Royer; sister, Lorraine Hell; sister-in-law, Judith Johnson; niece, Kathy Hefner; nephews, Jay Johnson, Ronnie and David Hell. In later years he had a special friend Delora King. Deloraââ¬â¢s family became his second family. Delora passed away and her surviving family are: Rebecca King (Dan Mattern) , Brad (Geraldine) King, Maureen King, Wendy (Larry) Holter, Robert (Melody) King, and Jodi Syrup. He also has a very good friend Deb Letkeman. The staff of Pembilier Nursing Center became like a family to him and he appreciated all the joy they brought to his life.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Richard and Leland; brother-in-law, Tolly Hell.
