LaRae Hornung

LaRae (Clairmont) Hornung, 83, of Walhalla, ND passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 3, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial will be held in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Walhalla. In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to the Pembilier Nursing Center or the Altru Hospice.
LaRae Elizabeth Mae Clarimont was born May 13, 1929, to Emil and Mae (Bisenuis) Clairmont. She was born and raised in Olga Township, near Walhalla. She worked at the Walhalla State Bank after her graduation from Park River High School.
On June 26, 1950, she married Leo Hornung. She worked as the office manager for Stanley Metelmann Farms for 50 years. LaRae served on the St. Boniface Altar Society and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She also volunteered at various positions with St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children: Mary Beth (Bill) Mueller, Scottsdale, AZ, Michelle (Gary) Lund and Monica (Darrell) Hedgepeth, all of Fargo, ND, and Michael (Joy) Hornung, Sartell, MN; grandchildren: Matthew Velasquez-Mueller, Scottsdale, AZ and Elizabeth Mueller, Seattle, WA; Carmen (Scott) McIntyre, Moorhead, MN, Scott (Judy) Tongen, Denver, CO, Joshua (Darya) Tongen, Colorado Springs, CO; Cory (Jess) Schouten, Brooklyn Park, MN, Anthony (Tiffany) Schouten, Bemidji, MN, Jennifer (Brady) Mitchell, Fargo; Christopher and Alexander Hornung, Sartell, MN; great grandchildren: Alexandra, Morganne, Josiah, and Grace McIntyre, Owen and Isaac Shouten, Noah Tongen; siblings: William (Pat) Clairmont, Donald "Bud" Clarimont, and Gloria Gendreau.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Leo; granddaughter, Gretchen Mueller; brothers: Ray, Jack, and Leo; and sister, Delores.
Celebrants: Rev. Fr. Jude Okafor, Deacons, Jim Carpenter and Steve Pareja.
