L. Janet Austfjord

L. Janet Austfjord age 71 of Cavalier, ND, our loving Mom and Amma, has gone to heaven to be with our Dad the love of her life, on Monday, August 6, 2007, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 10, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Thursday, August 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial in the Andvari Cemetery, rural Cavalier, ND.
L. Janet Bjornson was born July 7, 1936, on the family farm, near Svold, ND, the seventh daughter of Barney and Asta (Bradburn) Bjornson. She attended country school, until graduating from Cavalier High School in 1954. In 1955, she graduated from the New York Hair Dressing Academy in Fargo, ND.
On June 30, 1956, she married John (Manny) Austfjord at Svold, ND. Manny passed away on April 26, 2004.
She is survived by her children; Linda (Niel) Carik, Cavalier, ND; Carol Raymond (very special friend, Jerry Schewe) Isle, MN; and Kevin (Sabrina) Austfjord, Cavalier, ND; grandchildren, David (JoAnn) Carik, Cavalier; Amy (Brandon) Briese, St. Thomas, ND; Joshua, Nathan, and Jade Austfjord, Cavalier; two great-granddaughters, Brooke and Billie Carik; sisters, Elsie Kristjanson, Grand Forks, ND; Pearl Ault, Fargo, ND; Doreen Johnson, Walhalla, ND; sisters-in-law, Cleo Bruers, in California; Mavis Eide, in Texas; and Carolyn (Pat) Abel, in Kentucky.
Janet was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Curtis; son-in-law, Jeff Raymond; brothers, Barney, Tommy, and William Bjornson; sisters, Christine Simundson, Margaret Zimmerman, and Lillian Sarrazin.
Clergy: Rev. Judy Moos.
Casket Bearers: Harlan Ault, Douglas Bjornson, Michael Carik, Lyndon "Chip" Johnson, Gary Sarrazin, and Keith Thompson.
