Kyle Wenzel

August 29, 1984 — January 2, 2009

Kyle Wenzel, 24, of Horace, ND and formerly of Harvey, ND passed away Friday January 2, 2009.

Kyle Jacob Wenzel was born August 29, 1984 at Langdon, ND to Curtis and Kathy (Krom) Wenzel. Kyle enjoyed his early years on the farm near Langdon. He lived briefly in Devils Lake before moving to Harvey, ND during his fourth year of Elementary School. He spent his school years in Harvey where he was very close with his classmates. He was the only freshman to make the Harvey Varsity Football Team and his team went on to become the Class A Champions in 1998. His team became Region II champs in 1999, 2000 and 2001 and he was named to the 1st Team All Region and All State in 2001. Kyle was also involved in wrestling and was a state qualifier in 2001. He loved to ride snowmobile, motorcycle and four wheeler and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Kyle graduated from Harvey High School in the class of 2002. He went on to attend NDSU for a year and a half. He moved to Horace 8 months ago after spending many years in Fargo/Moorhead and was working for North-Core.

Kyle is survived by his father Curt Wenzel of Langdon, ND, mother Kathy Fischer of Harvey, ND, daughter Hailey Shea Wenzel of Horace, ND, brother T.J. Fischer of Harvey, ND, paternal grandmother Lauretta Wenzel of Langdon, maternal grandmother Marie Krom of Devils Lake, ND, paternal aunts Karen Kloster of Yutan, Nebraska, Colene (Doug) Forsberg of Lakeville, MN, Renee (Loren) Rohman of Wahpeton, ND, maternal aunts and uncles: Jerry (Eileen) Krom of Fort Pierre, SD, Jean (Don) Smith of Libby, MT, Shirley (Leon) Martinson of Devils Lake, ND along with numerous cousins.

Kyle was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Harold Wenzel, maternal grandfather Louis Krom, Jr., aunts and uncles: Gayle (Knecht) NicholsJohn Knecht and Bruce Wenzel.

SERVICES: Harvey, ND

Visitation will begin at 4pm with a 7pm prayer service on Wednesday January 7, 2009 at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey, ND.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday January 8, 2009 at 10:30am at St. Cecelia Catholic Church of Harvey, ND.

SERVICES: Langdon, ND

Visitation will begin at 6pm with a 7pm Prayer Service on Friday January 9, 2009 at the United Methodist Church of Langdon.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 10, 2008 at 2:00pm at the United Methodist church of Langdon.

Interment will take place at Zion Cemetery, Rural Langdon in the spring

Kyle was a great friend and classmate, having moved to harvey the same year, we went from fourth grade to graduation together and had many great adventures. he was a kind hearted person who always had a smile on his face.
