Kenneth (Ken) LaPorte, 55, of Langdon, ND, passed away Monday October 22, 2007 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital.

Kenneth James LaPorte was born October 2, 1952 at Langdon, ND to George Joseph and Mary Lavina (Schwartz) LaPorte. He attended the Krein School in Hay Township where the family lived for many years. He worked road construction and later on the Norris and Nell Marie Nelson farm. He lived in Osnabrock for several years before moving to a farmstead in Harvey Township. Deb Scott and Ken were married on February 14, 1995 and they made their home north of Langdon. He worked as a painter for Les Welsh in Langdon and was currently employed by the Langdon Motor Inn. He enjoyed trapping, hunting and snowmobiling in his early years and working on vehicles. His two children were his pride and joy.

He is survived by his wife Deb of Langdon, children Scott and Kristi both at home in Langdon, brothers and sisters: Merlin LaPorte of Cavalier; Laverne (Pat) LaPorte of Osnabrock, ND; Darryl (Alverna) LaPorte of Walhalla; Gary LaPorte of Langdon, ND; Marge (Harvey) Beauchamp of Osnabrock; Karen LaPorte of Cavalier; Judy LaPorte of Cavalier and Marlene LaPorte of Cavalier along with numerous nieces and nephews and mother and father-in-law Adeline and Ernest Klemetson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters: Ronald, Larry, Les, Joyce and Shirley.

VISITATION will begin at 2pm Thursday, October 25, 2007 with a 7pm Prayer Service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon.

SERVICES Will be held at 2:00pm Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon.

INTERMENT Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, ND
