June E. Tongen

June E. Tongen, age 84, of Walhalla, ND, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011, at Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, at the Walhalla Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home in Walhalla, ND. Burial at Hillside Cemetery. June E. Anderson was born June 29, 1926 in Walhalla, to Ingvald and Gunda (Erickson) Anderson. She married Doyle E. Tongen on November 23, 1945 in Walhalla. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, and cooking. Doyle passed away November, 20, 2006. She is survived by her sons: Don (Joan) Tongen, Walhalla, Steve (Jani) Tongen, Webster, SD; daughter, Patsy (Stan) Chaput, Fargo, ND; brother, Ernie Anderson, Mesa, AZ; sisters: Mae Gainer, Cavalier, ND, Iona Greene, Seattle, WA; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, two brothers: Lloyd and Earl Anderson, sisters: Violet Orcutt and Adeline Carriveau.
