Julie Feil

Julie Feil, 55, of Langdon, ND passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Julie Patrice Von Rueden was born on April 4, 1960 in Moorhead, MN to Edward and LaVerne Von Rueden. She grew up in East Grand Forks, MN and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High School in 1978. She then attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. There she met the love of her life, Kenton Feil. They were married April 23, 1983 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks.

Shortly after they married, they moved to Langdon, ND where Kent farmed with his dad and brother. Julie was employed at Heigaard & Stewart Law office for a couple years. In 1986, she was employed at Schaffer & Associates accounting firm as an accountant. When John Schaffer retired in 1997, she became the office manager. In January 2004, she took the position of Chief Financial Officer at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital. She worked there for ten years until illness forced her to resign in July of 2014.

Julie’s greatest accomplishment was raising three amazing children. They were her life. She always attended all of their sporting and music events. She was so proud of them. She also enjoyed camping, gardening in her perennial flower garden, and just spending time with family. She valued family more than anything else and lived life with unwavering faith. Julie did some volunteer work serving as treasurer for the Langdon Daycare, Langdon hockey program, and Cavalier County Search & Rescue. She was the shining example of selflessness and always a picture of beauty. Her fashion forward appearance never went unnoticed as she had a love for all things sparkly and leopard print. Her smile lit up the room, and her infectious laugh will be missed by all.

Julie is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Kent, of Langdon; her mother, LaVerne Von Rueden, of Grand Forks, ND; children: Alex (Brianna) of Grand Forks, Courtney (Josh Short) of Langdon, and Chelsea (Mike Vanatta) of Grand Forks; two brothers: Mike (Candy) Von Rueden and Jeff (DeAnn) Von Rueden, both of Grand Forks; two sisters: Lo Ann (Ronnie) Larson of Niagara, ND and Jana (Doug) Rosenkranz of Grand Forks, in-laws Les & Olga Feil of Langdon; sister-in-law Lesley Muscha of Woodbridge, CA; brother-in-law Ross Feil of Langdon; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, brother Randy Von Rueden, brother-in-law Mike Muscha, and brother-in-law Steve Feil.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will take place from 5-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 prayer service on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Church and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Thursday.
