Joyce Klein

Joyce Klein, 81, of Langdon, ND and formerly of Munich, ND, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon, ND.

Joyce McFadden was born December 14, 1934 in Bantry, ND to James and Lillian (Johnston) McFadden. She grew up and attended grade school in the Fort Totten area and attended high school in Devils Lake, ND. After graduating, Joyce went to bible college in St. Paul, MN. She then worked at the courthouse and taught school for one year at Harvey Centre before moving to Devils Lake and working at Rand’s Clothing Store. Joyce and Clinton Klein were married on April 11, 1959 in Devils Lake. They lived on a farm near Munich where they farmed the land and raised their family until moving to Langdon, ND about 12 years ago.

Joyce was very involved on the farm, especially the business end of farming. She was on the board of Cavalier County Social Services for many years and helped at many elections. She loved making doughnuts and carmel rolls and would give them away to her friends and family. She enjoyed going to her children’s sporting events and visiting with her grandchildren. Joyce was a member of Rosehill Mennonite Church of rural Alsen and Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Langdon.

Surviving Joyce are her husband of 56 years, Clinton, of Langdon; children: Steve of Alsen, Sue (Jim) Allmer of Bismarck, ND, Sam (Ruth) of Lakeville, MN, Sherman (Jenny) of Farmington, MN, and Becky (Jeff) Pierskalla of Blaine, MN; grandchildren: Erica, Tyler, Spencer, Benjamin, Braden, Mitchell and Sydney; siblings: Bill, Shirley (Clyde) Jones, Florence (David) Schneider, Tom (Joyce) and David; sisters-in-law: Katherine McFadden, Arvelda Wiens, Dorothy Ewert; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim McFadden, and sister Rose (Joe) Redmond.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon, ND and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday.
