Jerry C. Hipp, 58, of Langdon, ND passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon.
Jerry Clinton was born May 12, 1958 in Weatherford, OK to Delmar and Shirley (Charles) Hipp. He was raised in Weatherford and graduated from high school before starting to work in the oil rigs. He was also a ranch hand before moving up to the Langdon, ND area to work for a local farmer. On April 7, 1990, Jerry was united in marriage to Jodi Domres at the United Lutheran Church in Langdon. Jerry went on to work for Downs Trucking for one year before starting his 26 year career as a truck driver for Langdon Implement where he made many friends with co-workers and customers alike. He was extremely proud of his trucks and other vehicles and kept them very clean and well maintained.
Jerry had many interests. He loved to grill and cook and made the best southern fried chicken. He loved to shop, especially at the grocery stores out-of-town. Jerry was an avid Harley Davidson fan and loved to build model cars with his son, Blake. They put together over 20 models together. He also shared his love of the band, Boston, with his son. Jerry had a special place in his heart for his daughter, Tabitha. So much so that he took a lot of grief from his friends when he took her to a Christina Aguilera concert at the state fair when she was younger! Jerry loved to tinker and turn a wrench and was very particular about his tool collection- nobody used it without permission. He loved watching westerns and MASH. He even recorded all the episodes on VHS after he and Jodi got married! Jerry had a great sense of humor and was persistent as he never seemed to let anything go. He was also a huge animal lover of anything from chickens to dogs. He seemed to be able to train anything! He had a special place in his heart for his family, especially daughter Tabitha, his granddaughters and his dogs, Tobi and Ruby. He really enjoyed Facetiming with Tabitha and his granddaughters.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Jodi, of Langdon; children: Tabitha (Joshua) Syverson of Grand Forks, ND & Blake Hipp (special friend Rusalyn Krikava) of Langdon; granddaughters Olivia & Tesslyn Syverson; mother Shirley Hipp of Joplin, Missouri; uncle Sam (Debra) Charles; mother & father-in-law Bev and Jerry Domres; brother-in-law Lynn Domres (special friend Tara Roberts); nieces Jayla (Nugget) Christie & Tara Domres (special friend Josh Plummer); nephew Ryan Domres (special friend Heather Brown); great-niece Myla; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by father Delmar and twin brother Terry.
