Jerold (Jerry) Badding, 75, of Langdon and formerly of Hannah, ND passed away September 16, 2009 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.
Jerold Henry Badding was born August 28, 1934 at Prentice, Wisconsin to Henry and Mildred (Wieland) Badding.
He went to school at Prentice and helped his dad with logging and the family farm. He worked in Milwaukee for a furniture company before moving to North Dakota to work for Burton Henderson on his farm. The following year, he worked for Austin Lewis on his farm, where he met Carol Lewis.
On November 19, 1955 he married Carol and they moved to Prentice, Wisconsin for a short time and then returned to North Dakota to begin farming.
The family moved to Bisbee, ND where he worked in the Bisbee Grain Elevator, and then in 1968 moved to Hannah where he ran the Hannah Elevator for 16 years. He retired from the elevator after an injury.
During his retirement years he kept busy by helping Virgil at Heltââ¬â¢s Garage and with their projects of restoring old trucks. He went many Sunday mornings with Daryl and June checking out the latest antiques Daryl had purchased. He always enjoyed having his grandchildren come home for visits.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking. A special past-time was meeting friends for a cup of coffee and a roll of the dice to see who buys at the Hannah Cafe. Recent years, the Langdon Bread Pan was the spot for conversation and coffee.
