Janice Sharp

Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior at the Joliet Methodist Church, Joliet, ND.

After many years of illness and suffering, Janice Rae Sharp, age 64, of Bemidji, MN, passed away peacefully at her home, on Monday, August 1, 2011, into the arms of the great healer, our Lord and Savior, "Jesus Christ."
Janice Sharp was born February 13, 1947, in Grafton, ND, to Harvey and Dorothy (Fischer) Sharp, of Hamilton, ND. She grew up on her parents farm and attended the Prattford country grade school in Carlisle Township. She attended high school in Cavalier, ND and finished her education in the Job Corp in Albuquerque, NM. After receiving her diploma she went to Northwest Technical College in East Grand Forks, ND and Bemidji, MN, to study the nursing profession. Due to the on-set of her many illnesses she was unable to pursue a nursing career.
Janice loved to spend time with her siblings and her mom and dad, and made many trips, near and far, to share her love and appreciation of them. Her happy smile with the biggest hugs, were a special part of her. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping with her family. She enjoyed photography, shooting many photos suitable for framing and shared them with her loved ones. She had a talent and love for free hand drawing. She loved autumn and enjoyed driving truck for many years, during the grain and sugar beet harvest. Whether just a short while, or for several days, she enjoyed having company at her home, where she always gave a warm welcome, good conversation and shared her excellent cooking. Because of her giving nature, she loved Christmas and all holidays. One of her fondest memories was a surprise on Thanksgiving, of 2009, when her son, who was in the Army, came home on leave from Iraq.
In her last years she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchild and the companionship of her loving daughter.
During the many years of her illnesses and suffering she never complained to those she loved. In the past two years, one of Janice's greatest accomplishments was her devotion to our Lord.
Janice is survived by her son, Scott Herseth of Texas; daughter, Leighanne (Steve) Kaczar of Roseau, MN. 7 grandchildren; Justin (Stephanie) Herseth of Montevideo, MN, Preston Cajahuaman, United States Marines, Okinawa, Japan, Shane Herseth of Kennedy, MN, Ashley Herseth of Kennedy, MN, Jordan Herseth of Roseau, MN, Seth Kaczar of Roseau, MN, Brayden Kaczar of Roseau, MN. 1 great grandchild; Gavin Herseth of Montevideo, MN.

Janice was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Sharp; and brother, Darrell Sharp.
