Janice M. Pitcher, 68, of Walhalla, ND passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at her home. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services.
Janice M. Evenson was born November 30, 1948 at Grafton, ND to Magne and Borghild (Odden) Evenson. She grew up in Park River, ND, where she attended grade school and graduated from Lakota High School in 1966. Jan then attended Lake Region College in Devils Lake, ND, where she studied nursing. After college, she worked as a nurse in Fargo and Devils Lake.
On May 15, 1982, she married Charles Pitcher at Svold, ND. After their marriage they lived at Backoo, ND. Jan and Charlie owned and operated a service station in Walhalla. She also worked at the Borg Memorial Home, Mountain, ND and the Developmental Center in Grafton, ND. Things she enjoyed were reading, sewing, and doing puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters: Beth Pitcher, Cavalier, ND and Amy Pitcher, West Fargo, ND; grandsons: Oliver and Nixon Pitcher; step-daughter, Dorothy Long, Atlanta, GA; siblings: Dorothy Rollefstad, Glenna Mae (Roy) Dion, Delores (Robert) Gerth, Merle (Alice) Evenson; brother-in-law, Ivan Goodoien.
Preceding her in death were her parents and siblings: Donald Evenson, Gladys Goodoien, Rodney and Russell Evenson.
