Janice E. Pederson

Janice E. Pederson, 80, of Langdon, ND, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at her home in Langdon after a long illness.

Janice Magnus was born May 27, 1938, in Langdon, ND, to Morris and Alice (Agar) Magnus. After graduating from Langdon High School in 1956, she attended Aaker’s Business College in Fargo for two years. She returned to Langdon where she worked for Louis Arnold Insurance Agency. Janice was united in marriage to Glenn Pederson on June 4, 1960, at United Lutheran Church. The newlyweds made their home in Moscow Township where they raised their three children. In 1988 they moved to Langdon. Janice was a secretary at Farmers Union, Langdon High School, and Langdon Elementary School before retiring. Janice enjoyed tending to her garden, collecting pig items, and making the best lefse to share with family and friends. She was a member of United Lutheran Church in Langdon and their WELCA.

Janice is survived by her husband, Glenn, of Langdon; children: Tammy (Tom) Verke of Grand Forks, ND, Teri (Kevin) Lill of Langdon, and Jason Pederson (Emily Stone) of Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Mandy (Sam) Held, Sarah Johnson (Shannon O’Brien), Savannah (Jeremiah) Bailly, Megan (Michael) Geisen, Matthew (Kim) Verke, Travis Verke, and Hunter Verke; great-grandchildren: Sylas, Eli, Leo, Mckenna, Zoey, Colton, Hudson, Mason, and MacKinnon; brother Bruce (Elsie) Magnus of Langdon; and sisters-in-law Judy Magnus, Delores Magnus, and AnnMarie Davis along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Emil Dale, Warren Neil, & Dennis; and sister June (Burnelle) Nelson.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at United Lutheran Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon, ND. Visitation will also be one hour prior to service time at the church on Sunday. Burial will be at Moscow Cemetery, rural Wales, ND.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon, ND. Visitation will also be one hour prior to service time at the church on Sunday. Burial will be at Moscow Cemetery, rural Wales, ND.
