Janet Gritz

Janet Gritz, 58, of Hoople, ND passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Hoople. A visitation will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier, ND.

Janet Jerome was born August 20, 1959 in Walhalla, ND to William and Betty (Denault) Jerome. She grew up in Cavalier and graduated from high school in 1979. On July 12, 1984, Janet married Roby Gritz in Cavalier. Janet worked at Burke’s Bakery in Cavalier for 15 years. She then worked at Korner Grocery and Duffys, both in Hoople, for a number of years. For the last 24 years, Janet worked for Halls.

Survivors include her son, Travis; grandchildren: Jysmen, Roby and Shaelynn; brothers, Clint Jerome, Hoople, ND; Jeff Jerome, Park River, ND; Kelly Jerome, Cavalier, ND; Dana Jerome, Grand Forks, ND; sister, Linda (Gar) Storey, Grand Forks, ND; Janet is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, Jerry and Andrew; and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
