Jim Well, 85, of Plymouth, Minnesota, passed into the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ, on February 23, 2024. He was born on the family farm in Cavalier, North Dakota on March 22, 1938. After graduation from Cavalier High School, he attended North Dakota Agricultural College (now NDSU) earning a degree in Agricultural Education.
Jim taught Vocational Agriculture at Bowman and Milton, North Dakota for a few years after college and then went to work as a county supervisor for the Farmers Home Administration for 19 years, most of which were as a county supervisor. The last 17 years of his career he was a financial advisor for Piper, Jaffray/Stifel. Jim was active in the community, church, and the Masonic Lodge holding the position of Grand Master of the State of North Dakota from 1989-1990. He enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially with family - camping, hunting, fishing, and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 62 years, Audrey Well, parents Harold and Ellen Well, brother William Well, and infant brother Harold Well. He is survived by sister Ruth Schluchter of Cavalier, ND; daughter Linda Well Nagel (Marc), Plymouth, MN and son Keith Well (Karlene), Elizabethtown, KY; 5 grandchildren: Richard Well (Sandra), Germany; Ryan Well (Rachel), Lincoln, NE; Anna Nagel, Plymouth, MN; Meta Nagel, Italy; and Rebecca Well, Phoenix, AZ; and 3 great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Emily, and Elliott Well, Lincoln, NE.
The funeral service will be held at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier, North Dakota on March 1 at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 am. A Masonic ritual will be held at the end of the funeral service.
