Jacob ââ¬ÅJakeââ¬Å¥ Kram, 84, Langdon, ND, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon.
Jacob ââ¬ÅJakeââ¬Å¥ Kram was born October 28, 1932 at Wales, ND, to Jacob and Lena (Stremich) Kram. He attended school in Wales and Hannah, graduating from Wales High School in 1952. He and his brother John took over the farm in 1957 when their father retired. Jake met Judy Seaworth at a barn dance at Francis Illerbrunnââ¬â¢s near Mt. Carmel and were married at St. Michaelââ¬â¢s Church in Wales on December 27, 1961. They lived at the ââ¬Åhomeââ¬Å¥ place until 2000 when they moved to Langdon.
Jake was a supervisor in Linden Township for over 40 years and was on the original board of directors of Maple Manor Care Center. He was also a member of St. Michaelââ¬â¢s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was forever a farmer! Time spent with his family was always a delight, whether it was helping the boys on the farm, camping, or fishing. In his younger years, winter spare time was spent curling. He and Judy also spent 11 winters in Arizona.
They were blessed with four children: Brian James (Barb Ormiston) of Munich, ND, Beth Ann (Donald) Grenz of Bismarck, ND, Curtis Lee (Amy Lynn Hodgins) of Wales, ND, Cheryl Marie (Michael Muhs) of Dresden, ND; 13 grandchildren: Kara (Greg) Leopold of Horace, ND, Kimberly (Jason) Wirth of Munich, ND, Kathryn (Ken ) Carwile of Edmore, ND, Katie Grenz, Kristin (Luke) Nelson- all of Fargo, ND, Matt (Heidi) Grenz of Mandan, ND, Tana Grenz of Bismarck, ND, Ethan and Tyler Kram of Wales, ND, Jake, Andy, Lizzie, and Daniel Muhs of Dresden, ND; 11 great-grandchildren: Kayla, Lauren, and Ashlyn Leopold, Kadence, Easton, Rylan, and Skylar Wirth, Hayden and Alaina Beth Nelson, and Noah and Asher Grenz. He was also survived by sisters-in-law: Leone Kram of Langdon, ND, Yvette Kram of Walhalla, ND, Rosemary Kram of Minneapolis, MN, Marilyn Kram Borho of Langdon, Theda (Richard) Lyke of Rochester, MN and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings: Anton, John, Edward, Ann, George, Josephine, Leo, Rudy, and Percy. Jake was the last surviving member of his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michaelââ¬â¢s Catholic Church in Wales, ND. Visitation will be held Monday, October 30, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary and prayer service at the St. Alphonsus Parish Center in Langdon, ND. Burial will be held at the St. Michaelââ¬â¢s Catholic Cemetery in Wales, ND.
