Irwin "Joe" Latozke

January 25, 1928 — November 13, 2014

Irwin "Joe" Latozke, 86, of Cavalier, ND went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 at the Kittson County Memorial Health Care Center in Hallock, MN.

There will be a celebration of Life on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Askew Funeral Home - 209 Elizabeth St., Cavalier, ND. A visitation will be held from 12:00p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Born January 25th, 1928, Irwin "Joe" Latozke attended Bruce School and farmed near Neche, ND. His parents were Adolf and Olga (Stegman) Latozke. Preceded in death by: brothers - Arthur, Edward, Alfred, Paul, and sister Evelyn. Remaining siblings are Doris Armstrong and Hilda Clark. He married his lifelong friend Luella (Werven) Latozke. Together they raised five children - Barb Schlatter, Shakopee, MN, Alan (Naomi) Latozke, Cavalier, ND, Peggy (Francis) Longtine, Walhalla, ND, Linda (Roger) Wagner, Neche, ND, Kathy (Noel) Halley, Neche, ND. Irwin and Luella were blessed with 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Irwin "Joe" was a man of great faith in God. He was raised in the Neche area, and was a farmer all his adult life. He helped many family members and neighbors with his knowledge and willingness to always help others. Joe's motto in life should have been "work hard, serve and help others, and visit like there's no tomorrow." He always put his family first. Joe would generously give up his time and money to make other's lives easier.
