Ina A. Christianson

Ina Annette Christianson, 101, of Langdon, ND passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Maple Manor Care Center, Langdon. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 10, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Vang Cemetery, Vang, ND.
Ina was born in a sod house at Bowman, ND on August 24, 1911, to Mike and Johanna (Jorgensen) Rosenberg. At the age of eight, Ina came to Mona, ND on a horse and wagon with her family. She attended the Mona country school until the eighth grade. She then worked various jobs in Langdon in her teenage years. Ina, at the age of 23, married Oscar Christianson on September 30, 1934 in Vang, ND. The two then made their home and farmed in Hope Township and were members of the Vang Lutheran Church. Ina enjoyed being outside, spending many hours gardening, mowing lawn, and raking her leaves in the fall. She had many years to enjoy her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Ina loved making her famous overnight, dark molasses, and rolled-white sugar cookies, her strong Norwegian coffee, milk gravy, Norwegian hamburger, and on occasion ketchup sandwiches for her grandchildren. For the past few years, she had resided at the Maple Manor Care Center.
Survivors include her sons: Gene Christianson and Gary (Shirley) Christianson, all of Langdon; grandchildren: Kelly Christianson, Walhalla, Von (Vernetta) Christianson, Langdon, Lana (Paul) Balsdon, Osnabrock, ND, and Jill (Dave) Bates, Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren: Tara (Jorge) Camarine and Kayla (Will) Christianson, all of Washington, Kody (JennaLee) Christianson, Colorado Springs, CO, Dalton Christianson, Fargo, Jayme Annette Balsdon, Grand Forks, ND, Kale (Natasha) Christianson, Langdon, Austin Christianson, Walhalla, Ramsey Balsdon, Osnabrock, Haylee Christianson, Walhalla, and Kamry Christianson, Langdon; great-great-grandchildren: Raina, Jorge, and Airsilly Camarine,Kaleb Christianson, Cameron Christianson all of Washington, and Lilee Christianson, Colorado Springs, CO; siblings: Helen Christianson of Washington and Ray (Pat) Rosenberg of Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, siblings: Marie Stone, Florence Peterson, Lenore Welch, Ernest, Stanley, and Grant Rosenberg.
