Howard Charles Bennett

Howard Charles Bennett, age 64, of Jamestown, formerly of Walhalla, passed away in Jamestown on Thursday, August 19, 2010. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 2:30 pm at Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 5-7 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at the church. Interment will be at Vang Cemetery, Vang, ND.
Howard was born on September 16, 1945 in Vang, ND to Peter C. and Edith (Hiller) Bennett. He attended school in Vang. He married Janet Danielson on April 29, 1965 in Walhalla. He worked in construction in the early 1970's to 1984, owning his own company, Howard and Son Construction in Devils Lake, ND. He farmed his own land and also worked for Bruce Stillwell on his farm. Howard drove semi -truck for Altendorf Trucking in Minto, ND. He was an avid outsdoorsman, and encouraged his family to take up the sport of hunting.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister, Carol.
He is survived by his children, Trevor Bennett of Hugo, MN, Trent Bennett of Devils Lake, ND and his children, Ethan, Shawn and Katlynn Bennett, Torina Bennett of Sharon, ND and her children, Patricia Bennett, Amber and Jewel Messner, Layne Anderson, and Craig Anderson Jr.; brothers, Emmet (Emma) Bennett, Manley (Mary Ellen) Bennett, and Steven (Vicki) Bennett, all of Walhalla, ND; sisters, Frances Seeley of Pryor, OK, Evoynel Berg of Hillsboro, ND, Zelda (Richard) Lawson of Cavalier, ND, Imogene (Gerald) Helle of Thief River Falls, MN, Norma (Ron) Storey and Gayle (Bradley) Gendron, both of Walhalla, ND.
