Hilda M. Belanus

Hilda M. Belanus of Walhalla, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2009 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral service will be on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 1:30 PM at Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Walhalla, ND.
Hilda was born on May 23, 1929 in Plum Coulee, Manitoba to Peter S. and Anna (Penner) Dyck. She married Charles Belanus on January 20, 1950 in Winnipeg. They lived near Walhalla following their marriage. Hilda was a member of St. Peter's Guild. She enjoyed baking, gardening and embroidering. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Jacob, Ernest, Peter, one sister, Helen Wieler, grandson, William, and daughter-in-law, JoAnn Belanus.
She is survived by her husband, Charles of Walhalla, one son, Charles of Galesburg, ND, four daughters, Rita (Daryl) Eckes of Devils Lake, ND, Emily Belanus of Litchfield, MN, Nancy Belanus of Minneapolis, MN, Andrea Belanus of Bloomington, MN, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, Henry (Margaret) Dyck, and John (Mary) Dyck, both of Killarney, Manitoba, five sisters, Anne Falk of Winkler, Manitoba, Trudy Dyck of Winkler, Manitoba, Ruth (Nestor) Poloway of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Jessie (Abe) Krahn of Winkler, Manitoba, and Olga (Jake) Lekteman of LaRivere, Manitoba.
