Helmina Holo

June 19, 1911 — February 18, 2012

Helmina Holo, 100, of Langdon, ND, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon, ND.

Helmina Christina Holo was born June 19, 1911 at Loma, ND to Nels and Melia (Larson) Holo. She received her education in Loma Township. Helmina worked at the UCT Hotel in Langdon for over 20 years and worked for numerous families in the area. She was a member of United Lutheran Church in Langdon where she was active in quilting for missions, sang in the choir, was active in WELCA along with her church circle and taught Sunday School. Helmina was well-known for her crocheting of afghans and made quilt tops and afghans for auctions at the Park River Bible Camp, the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Maple Manor Care Center. Helmina especially enjoyed time spent with her loved ones, including her parents, brothers, sisters and her friends. She loved to work outdoors, especially in her flower beds. She appreciated a beautiful sunset, a rainbow, formations in the clouds and natural scenery.

Helmina is survived by nieces and nephews: Lenwood and Pat Holo of EauClaire, WI, Nolan Holo of Langdon, ND, John and Randi Holo Swanberg of Eden Prairie, MN, Valerie Asante and Jack Kiheri, Kevin Johnson of St. Paul, MN, Kim Johnson of St. Paul, MN; and many great and great-great-grandnieces and nephews.

Helmina was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Nilai Ludvik Holo, Alvina Rosella Holo, Nora Malvina Holo, Morris Grant Holo, Lillian Glendora Holo, Ruby Evelyn Holo, Almeda N. Holo and sister-in-law: Helen Holo.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at 11:00am at the United Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND.

Visitation will take place for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Wednesday.

Interment- Loma Cemetery, Loma, ND.

Memorials are suggested to the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital, The United Lutheran Church, The Park River Bible Camp, and the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.
