Helen Osmon

Helen Osmon, age 87, passed away August 29, 2010 in Bozeman, MT.

Helen was born October 1, 1922 in Aneta, ND, the daughter of James and Lydia Norgaard, long-time Nelson County officers. Helen graduated from Lakota High School in 1940. She received her associate degree in education from Jamestown College and her BA from Valley City State University. She taught for 49 years in several ND schools.

Helen was very active in Langdon community affairs having served on the park board and managing the swimming pool for many years. She served in various positions in her church. She was a member of the Langdon PEO and Eastern Star. Helen belonged to several educational associations. She loved teaching and enjoyed following the progress of her students throughout the years.

Helen married Wallace Osmon in Lakota, ND in 1944. They had two daughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 yrs.

She is survived by daughters Susan McConnell of Bozeman and B.J. (Chris) Manos of Helena; and 2 grandchildren, Monica Veirs of Durham, NC, and Kelly Manos of Helena, MT.

It is requested that any memorials be sent to Langdon Area School Foundation.

A memorial service will be held in Langdon at a later date.
