Helen P. McFadden, 93, of Cavalier, ND passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Bruce Cemetery, rural Neche, ND.
Helen Pearl Greenwood was born November 12, 1924 at Backoo, ND to Malcolm and Pearl (Pettit) Greenwood. She grew up and attended school in the Backoo area and graduated from Cavalier High School. On November 7, 1942, she married James H. McFadden at Hallock, MN. After their marriage they lived and farmed in the Bruce community. After their retirement they spent several winters in Texas.
Things she enjoyed were knitting, crocheting, reading, cooking, gardening, and canning. Jim and Helen also enjoyed fishing. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with all children.
She is survived by her children: Peggy Page, Grand Forks, ND, Kitty Mullen (Dave Waller) Fort Myers, FL, Pat (Marge) McFadden, Fergus Falls, MN, Dennis (Maxine) McFadden, Castle Rock, CO, Tom McFadden, Bob (Val) McFadden, all of Cavalier, ND, David McFadden (Shelley Burnette), Denver, CO; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brother, Neal (Verna) Greenwood.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James; children: Donald James, Sue Ellen, and Karen Louise McFadden; grandson, Aaron McFadden; daughter-in-law, Laurie McFadden; brothers: Donald, Scotty, Harold, Earl, and Edward.
