Harvey Willard Hodgson

Harvey W. Hodgson, 87, formerly of Cavalier, ND passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012, at the Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cavalier Evangelical Free Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, September 14th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial will be held in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Harvey was born September 17, 1924, at Cavalier to John and Pearl (Switzer) Hodgson. He grew up on the family farm northeast of Cavalier and attended the Cranley School. In 1942, he graduated from Cavalier High School. From 1944 to 1946, he served in the U.S. Army. After graduating from Northwestern College in 1956, he married Agnes Huber on November 3, 1956. He farmed near Cavalier until his retirement in 1987.
He was part of the Cavalier Baptist Church in his youth, Pembina Evangelical Free Church while raising their family, and the Cavalier Evangelical Free Church in his later years. Harvey loved his Lord Jesus Christ, his family, his community, and the farm.
Survivors include his wife, Aggie, Breckenridge, MN; sons: Dan (Sue) Hodgson, Fargo, Jim (Jenny) Hodgson, Bemidji, MN, son-in-law, Tom (Gwen) Geisler, Grand Rapids, MN, brother, Roy Hodgson, LaMirada, CA; sisters: Luella Farrow, Cavalier and Reta (Ron) Harless, Anoka, MN; grandchildren: Beau (Heidi) Geisler, Cassie (Drew) Viele, Lexi Geisler, Beth (Corey) Weston, Dustin Hodgson, Mishele (Darryl) Wallin, Jessica Hodgson, Joslin (Eric) Johnson, Brandon (Samantha) LaDoux, Chelsea (Zac) Preble, Tarah (Sam) Larson, Josh (Lindsey) Hodgson, Katelyn Hodgson, Brooke Geisler, Belle Hodgson, Brody Geisler, Seri Geisler, and 16 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Ruthie Geisler, and great-granddaughter, Natalie Hodgson.
Clergy: Rev. Stan Nelson.
