Grover T. Wells, 79, of Joliette, ND passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Memorial service will be held Monday, March 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pembina Lutheran Church, Pembina, ND. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial in the Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, ND.
Grover was born January 12, 1932, to Claude and Myrtle (Storms) Wells on the family near Joliette, where he grew up. In 1950, he graduated from Pembina High School and then served in the Army National Guard.
On August 15, 1952, he married Alice Brooks at Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick, MN.
He farmed in the Joliette area and worked for American Crystal Sugar Co. for 33 years until his retirement in 1999. Grover enjoyed curling, hunting, and fishing at his summer home at Ships Wheel Resort in Baudette, MN.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; sons: Wayne (Lisa) Wells, Joliette and David (Diane) Wells, Larimore, ND; daughter, Twyla Wells, Hillsboro, OR; grandchildren: Ryan (Beatrice) Wells, Seoul, South Korea, Lindsey Wells, Fargo, ND, Michael Wells, Jamestown, ND, Brittany Wells, Grand Forks, ND, Alecia Qualey, Brooks, MN, Megan (Jamie) Martin, Donaldson, MN, Erin Johnson, Hillsboro, OR; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Sharp, Hamilton, ND; sister-in-law, Connie Fischer, Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers: Marvin and Frederick; and sisters: Wilhelmina, Bessie, Jessie, and Elsie.
Clergy: Intern Pastor Roberta Pierce.
Honorary Pallbearers: All of Grover's Family and Friends.
