Gregory Herbert Olson

Gregory H. Olson, 69, of Langdon, ND, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Gregory Herbert Olson was born June 9, 1949, in Langdon, ND, to Herbert and Lenora (Menke) Olson. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Langdon High School in 1967. He continued his education at NDSU, graduating in 1971. Greg entered the US Army and served from 1971-1973. After being honorably discharged, he returned to the Langdon area and started farming, which he did his entire life. On December 13, 1985, he was united in marriage to Valerie Denault in Fargo, ND. Greg enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a big fan of Sioux hockey and Bison football. He was a member of the American Legion and the United Lutheran Church.

Greg is survived by his wife, Valerie, of Langdon; children: Bridget Messenger of Grand Forks, Adam (Lia) Olson of Langdon, David Olson (Maggie Chase) of Erie, CO, Collin Olson of Hutchinson, MN, and Danyelle Achen of Jamestown; grandchildren: Chase, Devin, Ethan, Feebe, Aria, Warren, Everett, Rylee, Teagan; mother Lenora Olson of Langdon; brothers Kent (Elreen) Olson of Harvey, ND, and Tom (Val) Olson of Langdon, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, maternal & paternal grandparents, father and mother-in-law, and a brother-in-law.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at United Lutheran Church in Langdon. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday, April 5, 2019, at United Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Saturday.
