Gordon Strand

Gordon Strand, 88, of Walhalla, ND passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood, ND. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 3:00p.m at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home in Walhalla, ND. A visitation will be held from 2:00p.m until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Gordon Strand was born September 10, 1926 at Wales, ND to Gunder and Anne (Hoverson) Strand. He grew up in Walhalla, ND. Gordon was drafted into the United States Navy on March 3, 1944. After returning from the service, he moved back to Walhalla where he farmed and operated heavy equipment.

Survivors include his children: Arnold Strand, Grand Forks, ND, Kenneth (Angie) Strand, Arvilla, ND; step-children: Betty Lajimodiere, Walhalla, ND, David Lajimodiere, Grand Forks, ND, Larry (Tina) Lajimodiere, Walhalla, ND, Rodney Lajimodiere, Walhalla, ND, and Darla Larson, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren: Kendall, Randall, Crystal, Katie, Ken Jr., Cearra, Starr, Seth and Skyla; great-grandchildren: Ethan, Madison, Khloe, Jason, Jayzlee, Kaycee, Jasmine, and Bentley; sisters: Ruby and Darlene.

Preceding him in death was his wife Della, parents, grandson Andrew, brother Bernie and sister Edith.
