Gordon Storey, 78, of Grand Forks and formerly of Walhalla, ND died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. A memorial mass will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Burial in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements with Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND.
Gordon was born August 29, 1931, at Leroy, ND to John and Florence (Jerome) Storey. He attended school in Leroy, Hoople, and Crystal, ND. Gordon worked in grocery stores and for local farmers until being drafted into the U.S. Army. From 1952 to 1954, he served over seventeen months in Korea. After his discharge from the service he worked as a mechanic from 1955, until 1991, when he retired due to medical reasons. With the love and care of Lorraine Storey, Gordon began his battle with kidney dialysis and treatment of COPD. In October of 1997, he moved to Grand Forks.
He is survived by his children, Bradley Storey, Crookston, MN, Wayne Storey, Walhalla, Lori Storey, Cavalier, ND, Sandra Storey, Grand Forks, ND, Todd (Nora) Storey, Grafton, ND; stepchildren, Sharon (Frank) Kalis, Walhalla, Harry Hiller, Grand Forks, Kelvin Hiller, Walhalla, Jeff (Maggie) Hiller, Langdon, ND; brothers, Hilliard Storey, Cavalier, Ronald (Norma) Storey and Alan (Marcie) Storey all of Walhalla, Tony (Steph) Storey, Bismarck, ND, and Dale (Maureen) Storey, Detroit Lakes, MN; sisters, Patsy (Lyn) Halo, Eau Claire, WI, Joyce Lafferty, Grand Forks, and Audrey (Alton) Horsley, Walhalla.
Preceding him in death were his parents; infant twin children, Brian and Kathryn, 10 month old son, Donald; stepdaughter, Pauline Vondal; sister, Hazel Cluchie; and niece, Connie Goulet.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Thomas Krupich.
Military Rites: Bartlette-Resler Post #62, Walhalla American Legion.
