Gordon Olson

Gordon Olson, age 82 of Cavalier, ND passed away on Friday, August 20, 2010 at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier. Funeral service will be on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 10:30 am at United Lutheran Church in Cavalier. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 22, from 4-7 pm at the church, and one hour prior to service. Military rites by Laverne J. Thompson Post #11, American Legion of Cavalier. Interment at Cavalier Cemetery.
Gordon was born on September 11, 1927 in Cavalier to William and Wilhemina (Andrews) Olson. He graduated from Cavalier High School. Gordon served in the US Navy for 2 years. He worked for the US Post Office for 39 years, the last 15 years serving as the postmaster. He married Marie Skrogstad on November 22, 1953 in Mountain, ND. He retired from the post office in 1986. Gordon was active in the American Legion, Masons, and United Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marie of Cavalier, daughter, Nancy Kaye (Dr. Edward) Adams of Grand Forks, sons, Kelly (Lisa) Olson of Windsor, CO., Kurt (Patty) Olson of Ft. Atkinson, WI; grandchildren, E.J. (Lyndsie) Adams, Casey Adams, Tyler and Katie Olson, Hannah and Sarah Olson, and Jason McCune. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
