Golda "Goldie" Mae Bauer of Grand Forks, ND formerly of Pembina, ND passed away peacefully with loving family members by her side, on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pembina Lutheran Church in Pembina, ND. Visitation will be for one hour before the time of services at the church. Burial will be in the Pembina Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Pembina Lutheran Church, 415 2nd St. S., Pembina, ND 58271
Golda Mae was born May 29, 1922 at Glasston, ND, the oldest daughter of George and Annie (Clerihew) Dickie. She attended school in Glasston and St. Thomas, ND as well as Mayville State Teachers College. After graduation, she taught school for two years in the Glasston area.
On June 17, 1944, she married Albert Bauer of Pembina. After their marriage, they lived in the Pembina area and farmed. Albert passed away in 1986 and Golda stayed on the farm until after the 1997 flood. She sold the farmstead and moved into an apartment in Pembina. In 2009, she moved into assisted living at Wheatland Terrace in Grand Forks.
Golda was a member of the Joliette Homemakers, Pembina Lutheran Church, Pembina Senior Citizens Club, and Fort Pembina Historical Society.
Survivors include her son: Allan Bauer, Devils Lake, ND; granddaughter: Kimberly (Ken) Blankenship, Spokane, WA; great-granddaughter: Kayla (Shelby) Stokes, Puyallup, WA, and great-grandson: Michael Blankenship, Pullman, WA; son-in-law, Richard Kozel, Vancouver, WA.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, one brother, and daughter, Shirley Kozel.
