Glenn E. Wells, 87, of Cavalier, ND died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 25, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Sunday, May 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Glenn E. Wells was born November 2, 1921, at Mylo, ND to Earl and Edna (Larson) Wells. He grew up in the Fairdale, ND area and graduated from Fairdale High School.
On October 13, 1949, he married Dorcas Storsteen at Devils Lake, ND. After their marriage they lived in Walhalla, where Glenn worked as a salesman. In 1959, he became Sheriff of Pembina County, until his retirement in 1986. He was past president of the North Dakota Peace Officers Association. Glenn was a member of the Tongue River Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Kem Temple Shrine, North Dakota Sheriffs Association, Cavalier Senior Citizens, and United Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council.
He is survived by his children, Curtis (Donna) Wells, Bolivar, MO, Gail Wells, Fargo, ND, Glenda (Jim) Rouse, Boone, IA, Thomas (Liz) Wells, Jamestown, ND, Laurel Wells (Dave Henderson) Menasha, WI, grandchildren, Jessica Schafer, Tisa Wade, and Tansy Wells, great granddaughter, Chloe Elaine Schafer, siblings, Howard (Mary) Wells, Hemet, CA and Phyllis (Orval) Reichert.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Dorcas on September 11, 1997, and brothers, Clifford and Floyd Wells.
Clergy: Rev. Beth Peterson.
Casket Bearers: Mark Gregory, Mike Gregory, Oliver Gregory, Wayne Jenson, Terry Reichert,Chad Schafer, and Brandon Wade.
Music: Cheryl Hartz, Organist and Rodger Hartz, Soloist
