Gladys A. Johnson

Gladys A. Johnson, age 88 of Pisek, ND passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at First Care Health Center, Park River, ND. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial will be at Andvari Cemetery, rural Cavalier, ND.
Gladys Aline Johnson, the daughter of James and Molly (Hiller) Galloway, was born on November 9, 1926 at Vang, North Dakota. She received her education near her childhood home.
Gladys was united in marriage to Peter J. Johnson in the Spring of 1946 near Walhalla, and to this union were born six children.
She was a lifelong resident of the Walhalla area, and will be remembered as a dedicated nanny and caregiver to many. She was an avid quilter and needle pointer, and had a green thumb for flower gardening, both indoors and out.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kermit (Darlene) Johnson of Gillette, WY, Kathy (Don) Steenerson of Grafton, ND, Karen (Jerry) Spillum of Apache Junction, AZ, Keith Johnson of Hoople, ND, Kimberly McKee of Park Rapids, MN, and Kurt Johnson of Bismarck, ND; numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren; one sister: Eileen (Ed) McKay of Grand Forks, ND.; other relatives and friends.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Peter; and by eight brothers and sisters.
