Gladys E. Heuchert

Gladys E. Heuchert , 85, of Hensel, ND died Monday, October 5, 2009, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 9, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Our Savior Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, St. Thomas, ND.
Gladys was born June 23, 1924, at Grafton, ND to George and Ettie Mae (Shephard) Baker. She grew up in the Crystal area, attended the Holliday Country School, graduated from Crystal High School and then attended Mayville State University.
On September 27, 1944, she married George R. Heuchert at Crystal, ND. After their marriage they lived and farmed in the Hensel area. Gladys worked for several years as a cook at the Hensel School and in the business office of the Pembina County Memorial Hospital. George died March 2, 1990.
Survivors include her children; Anna Mae (Lyle) Mineke, Walhalla, Carol (Roland) Mayhair, Grand Forks, Donald (Julie) Heuchert and Neil Heuchert, all of Hensel; son-in-law, Charles Hodek, Devils Lake ; grandchildren, Mark, Matthew, and Michael Hodek; Elizabeth Dominguez and Darrin Mineke; Steve and Kevin Mayhair; Joshua, Mandy, Nickolaus, and Brittany Heuchert; great grandchildren, Timothy and Sara Hodek; Connor Hodek; Michael and Rachel Dominguez; Victoria, Andrew, and Evan Mineke; Thomas, Brianna, and Samuel Mayhair.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Marilyn Hodek; brothers, Ray and George D. Baker and sisters, Evelyn Unke and Maxine Otto.
Clergy: Rev. Adam L. Scheblein.
Casket Bearers: George Baker, Larry Baker, Ron Baker, Elton Heuchert, Glenn Heuchert, and Earl Otto.
Music: Bettie Lou Stegman, Organist, Prayer service music, solo, Anna Mae Mineke and Matt Hodek, accordion selection.
