Gisela Wege age 65, of Cavalier, ND passed away Monday morning, April 13, 2009, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 22nd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before services. Burial in the Andvari Cemetery, rural Cavalier. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Pioneer Heritage Center at Icelandic State Park.
Gisela was born May 28, 1943, in Berlin, Germany to Friedrich and Margarete (Schlieder) Haak, who preceded her in death. Gisela grew up in Hildesheim, Germany. She worked for a number of years as an executive secretary in Germany, in addition to working in Canada for several years.
On February 28, 1987, she married Ted Wege at Cavalier. They spent over twenty years together at their "farm" near Concrete, enjoying gardening and country life. Gisela and Ted traveled extensively throughout their married life, to favorite place including Europe, visiting family and friends, their condo on the Washington coast and hot-spring spas in Montana. Ted Wege passed away on January 22, 2009.
She enjoyed many activities at the United Lutheran Church, including the Bible Study group, serving on Altar Guild, and early on, singing in the choir. Gisela was an avid supporter of the Pioneer Heritage Center, helping out with spring flower planting and assisting on committees as needed. Personal hobbies included photography, making beautiful hand-made cards, and with her love of flowers, she also enjoyed being a member of Garden Club.
Gisela is survived by her late husband's daughters, Linda Fisher, Boston, MA, Anne Wege, Fairfield, CT and Deborah Tribull, of Germany.

Music: Christine Hughes, Organist and Lynn Blosser, Soloist.
Casket Bearers: Wes Argue, Dennis Biliske, Darold Johnson, Peter Loewen, Roy Otto, and Robert "Kayo" Vivitson.
