Gina B. Quinnell

Gina B. Quinnell, 52, of Cavalier, ND passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 17, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home. Burial will be held in the Neche Union Cemetery, Neche, ND.
Gina Belle Quinnell was born October 19, 1961 in Cavalier, ND to t Ernest and Mary (Chounard) Quinnell. She grew up in Neche, ND and graduated from Neche High School in 1979.
She enjoyed life and had many hobbies which included collecting dolls, reading books and singing karaoke. She loved her cats and even fed a "pet" raccoon named Rocky for many years. Gina was a Ham radio operator and enjoyed it so much that she changed her license plate on her car to her call sign, KC0QFM. She was a member of the Pembina County Amateur Radio Club and the Heritage Doll Club. She worked for several years at the Cedar Inn, in Cavalier.
Survivors include one half-brother, Dale (Roxanna) Quinnell , Las Cruces, NM; uncle, Stanley Chounard, Champaign, IL; aunt, Yvonne Berard ( Joey Arndt), Urbana, IL; two nephews, Kyle (Bernadette, children Mira and Nathan), Las Cruces, NM; Cole (Julie, with children Analise and Amelia, Ortonville, MI, and Julie of Denver, CO). She is also survived by at least one hundred cousins, including those closest to her: first-cousin, Stephanie Sailer ( Glen Giese), Fargo, ND; second-cousins: Sarah McMasters, Moorhead, MN; Rochelle Busse-Chaput ( Jason Chaput),Hensel, North Dakota, Shawn (Cindy) Busse , Maple Grove, MN. Gina had many special friends to survive her, but none more special than Merlyn Dalsted, Svold, North Dakota.
Preceding her in death were her parents, grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
