Gilbert R. Schoenheit, 62, of Cavalier, ND was suddenly called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 30th from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial will be held in the Peters Cemetery, rural Cavalier, ND.
Gilbert Roy Schoenheit was born January 12, 1952, in Grafton, ND to Otto and Wanda (Elke) Schoenheit. He graduated from Cavalier High School and lived on the family farm at Backoo, ND. Gilbert was self-employed in construction (Schoenheit Construction), a trade passed down from his grandfather and father. Gilbert loved the Lord. His life reflected his Christian standards. He enjoyed Christian broadcasting and talking about the Lord with his family.
Survivors include his brothers: Robert (Elmyra), Williston, ND, Arnold (Lenore), Milwaukee, WI, Delbert, Harwood, ND, Howard, Fargo, ND; sisters: Agnes Klindt, Walhalla, ND, Marlene (Bill) Stremick, Cavalier, Phyllis (Duane) Reck, Grand Forks, ND, Charlotte (Kari) Soderberg, Ft. Myers, FL, Ruth Hall, Grand Forks, Anna Lammens (Dennis), Sun City, AZ; sister-in-law, Maryann Schoenheit, Fargo, ND; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters: Alice and Rita; and brother, Ronald.
