George H. Morden

George H. Morden age 86, of Cavalier, ND died on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Thursday, September 17th from 5:00 p.m. to 7: 00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery.
George was born July 7, 1923, near Cavalier to Herbert and Pearl (Schluchter) Morden. He grew up in the Cavalier and graduated from Cavalier High School.
On April 3, 1943, he married Dorothy L. Norgart at Cavalier. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii, where he was a map maker. After his discharge from the service he returned to Cavalier where he farmed his entire life, until his retirement in 1997. Dorothy passed away on December 13, 2007.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth Morden and Judy (Donald) Johnson, all of Cavalier; grandchildren, Chris, Kent Charles, and Colt Morden; Dr. Dawn Olson, Misty Scholler, and Devin Johnson; great grandchildren, Shaun, Brady, Coby, Samantha, Zachary, Jadyn, Lexi, Skylar, Brady, and Parker; sister, Erlene Ray, Cavalier.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, and sister, Esther Dunn.
Clergy: Rev. Lori Broschat.
Casket Bearers: Curtis Dunn, Devin Johnson, Kurt Kemnitz, Chris Morden, Shaun Morden, and Howard Ray.
Military Rites: Lavern J. Thompson Post #11, Cavalier American Legion.
