Gary W. Gross

Gary Gross, 64, of Osnabrock, ND, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018, at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon, ND.

Gary William was born December 7, 1953, in Grafton, ND, to William and Ione (Brusseau) Gross. He grew up in the Milton area and graduated from Milton High School in 1971. He then attended Lake Region Jr. College in Devils Lake, ND. On October 12, 1974, Gary and Peggy Krom were married at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon, ND. They made their home and raised their family near Osnabrock, ND. Gary had dairy cows and raised buffalo, donating most of the meat to soup kitchens all over North Dakota. Gary then got into the garbage business, serving many areas in Cavalier County and beyond.

Gary was a very sociable person and enjoyed being around people. He was known as the �jukebox junkie’ and was often asked to pick out songs for people since he enjoyed a wide variety of music. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Gary shared his love for the outdoors by riding horses, having bonfires, snowmobiling, and riding 4-wheeler with his grandkids. He also enjoyed playing cards and telling or hearing a good joke or story. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Gary is survived by his wife, Peggy, of Osnabrock, ND; children: Laurie (Scott) Monke of New England, ND, Justin Gross (Stacy Perdue) of Milton, ND, and Katie Horejsi of Larimore, ND; grandchildren: Megan & McKenna Monke, Nicole Gross, and Abby & Liam Horejsi; mother Ione Gross of CA; siblings: Diane (Mark) Thomas of CA, Kenneth (Cindy) Gross of AZ, and Keith Gross of CA; mother-in-law Ardelle Krom of Grafton, ND; and in-laws: David (Kelli) Krom of CO, Gloria (John) Steckler of St. Anthony, ND, Danny (Julie) Krom of Osnabrock, ND, Daryl (Janet) Krom of West Fargo, ND, Gary (Darlene) Krom of Grafton, ND, and Keith Krom of Thompson, ND, along with many niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by father William, father-in-law Donald Krom, and son-in-law Jared Horejsi.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at St. Alphonsus Parish Center in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday, February 23, 2018, at the Parish Center and for one hour prior to service time at the Parish Center on Saturday.
