Freddie N. Keney age 78, of Hamilton, ND died on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 7, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in the Pembina County Historical Site across from Icelandic State Park near Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 6th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. prayer service at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the St. Brigid of Ireland Cemetery, Cavalier.
Freddie N. Keney was born May 8, 1928, near Hamilton, ND to Albert and Mary (Glenn) Keney. He grew up and attended school in the Hamilton area and graduated from Hamilton High School. He farmed in the Hamilton area his entire life.
On December 27, 1951, he married Mary Louise Martineau at Pembina, ND. She died on November 26, 1974.
Fred was an active member of the Hamilton Civic Club and served on the Carlisle Township Board.
He is survived by his children, Wayne Keney, Great Falls, MT; Ron (Paulette) Keney, Bismarck, ND; Cindy (Tim) Samuelson, Roseau, MN; Roger Keney, Hamilton, ND; Randy (Marlene) Keney, Cavalier, ND; grandchildren, Jennifer Keney, Trevor (Kristi) Keney, Cole (Missy) Keney, Jamie (Steve) Olson, Joshua Kirchoffner, Tanner (Mandy) Samuelson, Jarvis (Sarah) Keney, Bryce (fiancee,Lisa) Keney ; great grandchildren, Brooklyn Keney; Logan, Breanna, and Karli Kirchoffner, Lexis and Isabelle Olson, and Halle Jo Keney; sisters, Donna (Lindel) Lindh, Billings, MT and Joyce (Al) Wirtzfield, Minot, ND.
Freddie was also preceded in death by his parents.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Jason Lefor.
Readers: Jeff Cull and Jennifer Keney.
Honorary Pallbeares: Members of the Hamilton Civic Club
