Freda G. Kihne

Freda G. Kihne, 89, of Cavalier, ND passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Southridge Nursing Home, Sioux Falls, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, February 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at the church. Interment will be held in the St. Brigid's Catholic Cemetery.
Freda was born June 28, 1924, in Manitoba to Jonas and Isabell (Johannson) Asmundson. She was raised near Svold by her uncle and aunt, Barney and Senna Johannson. Freda graduated from Cavalier High School and Aakers Business College in Grand Forks.
On May 15, 1944, she married Joseph Richard "Dick" Kihne at Lake City, FL. After their marriage they lived in Cavalier, where she worked at various businesses and raised their five sons. Dick passed away on August 13, 1989.
Survivors include her sons: Michael J. (Darlene) Kihne, Sioux Falls,SD, Robert (Barbara) Kihne, St. Cloud, MN, John F. (Lois) Kihne, Mandan, ND, Barney T. (Deb) Kihne, Cavalier, Mark R. (Darlene) Kihne, Tea, SD; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; siblings: Pearl Asmundson, Josie Campbell, Gisli and Franklin Asmundson.

Kihne, Zach Landon, Anthony Kihne, Danny Kihne; Honorary Pallbearers: Freda's grandchildren: Chris Kihne, Nancy Seefeldt, Brandon Kihne, Matt Bockheim, Sarah Bockheim, Missy Bockheim, Travis Nordstrom, Evan Peterson, Austin Peterson; Music: Bettie Lou Stegman, Accompanist and Rene Cashin, Cantor.
