Francis "Bud" Yeado age 80 of Walhalla, ND died on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Nelson-Askew Funeral Home, Walhalla, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
Francis "Bud" Yeado was born May 20, 1928, to William and Katherine (Sherlock) Yeado on the family farm near Leroy, ND.
On December 21, 1950, he married Anita "Kitty" Diemert, daughter of Henry and Matilda (Furstenau) Diemert, at Walhalla. Kitty passed away on May 2, 1989. He then married Jean Cook on September 29, 1990.
Bud worked in the early years for Dwight Holmes and Gapp Farms. Later he was employed by the North Dakota State Highway Department for 25 years, retiring in 1983. He was then employed at the Walhalla Co-op and also served on the Walhalla Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed working outdoors, gardening, and his horses. Bud was well known for his hard work ethic and his generosity in helping others.
Survivors include his wife, Jean, children, Dale (LaRae) Yeado, Bismarck, ND, Shirley Robillard, Walhalla, ND, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Yeado, Spokane, WA, Jerry (Diana) Yeado, Walhalla, ND, and Sandy Hennager, Langdon, ND, 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brother, Joseph (Elizabeth) Yeado, Warren, MN.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, great grandchild, Isabella, and brother, Willie.
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Thomas Krupich.
Honorary Pallbearers: Harvey Clark, Freddie Dalzell, Ted Dunnigan, Stanley Metelmann, and Florian Wendt.
Casket Bearers: Willard Fraser, Tom Hardy, Harry Holen, Chris Jackson, Dean Jackson, Scott Jackson, and Brian Mathison.
