Francis J. Riedhammer

Francis J. Riedhammer, 81, of Langdon, ND passed away May 25, 2015 at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon, ND.

Francis Joseph was born March 14, 1934 to George and Agnes (Koehmstedt) Riedhammer in Wales, ND. He attended school then went to work manufacturing grain bins in Nebraska. He married Irene Denault on August 16, 1958 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Nekoma. They moved to Butte, MT where Francis worked in the copper mines as he and Irene raised their family. After getting injured, Francis and Irene moved to Neche, ND then to Langdon. Francis enjoyed fishing, picnicking, camping, and traveling to national parks. He was also a very good cook. He took care of his granddaughter, Rachel, when she was younger and loved to spoil her.

Surviving Francis are his wife, Irene, of Langdon; children: Elma Riedhammer of Langdon, Richard Riedhammer of Fargo, ND, and Roy Riedhammer of Grand Forks, ND; 5 grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Frances, and his siblings.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon, ND with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m.

Interment – Saints Nereus & Achilleus Catholic Cemetery in Neche, ND
