Floyd C. Crockett, 84, of Langdon, ND passed away Saturday February 10, 2007
at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.
Floyd was born January 25, 1923 in Langdon, ND the son of the late Lawrence
and Edith (Witzel) Crockett. Through the years they lived north of Langdon
on a farm with the landmark, "Round Barn". Floyd attended rural grade
school and graduated from Langdon High School in 1940. He worked in Adrian,
Michigan in 1941 and 1942; returning to Langdon to Farm.
Floyd married Della Murie August 2, 1944. They lived and farmed north of
Langdon until 1953 when they moved into Langdon. Floyd was a member of the
Presbyterian Church of Langdon; a charter member of the Eagles Club #3454 of
Langdon and the Elks Club of devils Lake, ND. During the winter months he
enjoyed curling, bowling, loved hunting and watching his sons playing
basketball and his daughter cheerleading. He continued farming until 2001.
He entered the Maple Manor Care Center in September of 2003.
He is survived by his wife Della of Langdon, daughter Edie (Dave) West of
Boise, ID, sons: Jeffrey (Catherine) Crockett of Salina, CA; Robert (Carla)
Crockett of Minot, ND; Dennis (Sandra) Crockett of Langdon, ND; Ricky
(Carolyn) Crockett of Langdon, ND; Lawrence (Susan Fay) Crockett of Langdon,
ND; Thomas (Barb) Crockett of Langdon, ND, 19 grandchildren, 14
great-grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his
brother Orrin (Alma) Crockett of Langdon, sisters, Margaret (Tom) Chaput of
Ypsilanti, MI; Laura (Jack) Rutten of Goleta, CA; Shirley (William)
Burtenhouse of Apache Junction, AZ; and special friend A.L. Bud Murie of
Langdon, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents brother Perry, sisters Eileen Hawken
and Mavis Swenson and grandson Andrew Crockett.
VISITATION will take place Wednesday February 14, 2007 from 2 to 4pm at the
Brooks Funeral Home and later beginning at 6:00pm with a 7:00pm Prayer
service at the Presbyterian Church of Langdon, ND.
SERVICES Thursday February 15, 2007 at 2:00pm at the Presbyterian Church of
Langdon, ND.
INTERMENT Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND.
