Floriene Miller, 89, of Wahpeton, and formerly of Wales, ND passed away Friday June 6, 2008 at St. Catherineââ¬â¢s Living Center in Wahpeton, ND.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday June 13, 2008 at St. Michaelââ¬â¢s Catholic Church in Wales, ND with Father William McDermott Officiating. Burial will be at St. Michaelââ¬â¢s Catholic Cemetery in Wales.
Visitation will begin at 5:00pm with a 7:00pm Prayer Service all at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND on Thursday June 12, 2008.
Floriene V. Schneider was born May 1, 1919 at Wales, ND to Peter P. Schneider and Agnes (Platz) Schneider at Wales, North Dakota. She attended Wales grade school and high school. She graduated May 1937 in the first graduating class in the new school. Floriene attended the New York Hairdressing Academy in Fargo, ND. She opened her own shop in Wales, ââ¬Å:Florieneââ¬â¢s Beauty Shop.ââ¬Å¥ Floriene worked in St. Paul, MN for a period of time for Mrs. Gray. She was married to Gordon Miller on August 19, 1941 by Father James Sammon in St. Michaelââ¬â¢s Catholic Church in Wales. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August of 1991. Floriene and Gordon moved to Wahpeton in September of 1996. Floriene is a member of St. Johnââ¬â¢s Catholic Church in Wahpeton. Prior to moving to Wahpeton, Floriene was a member of St. Michaelââ¬â¢s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Wales. Florieneââ¬â¢s love of life was her family. She was very proud of each of them. She was a gentle caring woman who was loved by all. She was a charter member of Walesette Homemakers Club and the Cavalier County Museum. She enjoyed numerous crafts and collecting and restoring dolls with a collection that grew to over 800 dolls.
Floriene is survived by her daughter Mary (Bob) Gette, Wahpeton, sister Shirley Kram, Fargo, Brother Kenny (Marge) Schneider of Butte, MT, Grandchildren: David (Sarah) Gette of Somers, NY, Michelle (Greg) Davis of Savage, MN. Great Grandchildren: Norah Davis, Sophia Davis, Olivia Gette, twins Andrew and Zachary Gette and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gordon, grandson Corey Gette, her sisters Henrietta Kieffer, Charlotte ââ¬ÅSollyââ¬Å¥ Owens, LaRae Schneider, Bonnie Kartes-Batko, brothers Vernon Schneider and Norman Schneider.
