Florentine Gapp

Florentine Gapp, 96, of Langdon, ND, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013, at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon.

Florentine Kartes was born to John and Anna (Metzger) Kartes on June 23, 1917. Florentine was united in marriage to Benny Schneider in 1937. They had one son, Jack.


Florentine Schneider and Charles Gapp were united in marriage on October 21, 1941. They lived in the Mt. Carmel area before moving to Langdon in 1948. Florentine resided at the Maple Manor Care Center since 2006. Florentine was a member of the St. Alphonsus Altar Society and the Langdon Eagles Auxiliary.

Florentine is survived by her children: Jack (Paulette) of Marion, IA, Gary (Dixie) of North Fork, ID; Janet (Rick) Haukness of Key West, FL; Arlene (David) Lewis of Boise, ID; and Deborah Gapp of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and brother Lowell (Marilyn) Kartes of Langdon, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Benny Schneider and Charles Gapp; six brothers: Sylvester, Mark, Clem, Allen, Abraham and Henry; and sisters: Laura Perius Bruers and Bernadine Mikkelsen.

SERVICES: Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 2:00pm at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.

VISITATION: Two hours before the time of the services at the church on Tuesday, December 17, 2013.
